Week of February 17th

This week in K, we will be learning all things lunar! We will learn about the moon, how it orbits the earth, basic moon phases (full, new, first quarter, last quarter), and what the surface of the moon looks like. In their classrooms, students will be making moon craters with balls and flour/cocoa powder. Pictures are from last year...

In first grade, we are launching rockets in some classes and  making edible solar systems in others. All classes will get to do both activities in the next few weeks.

Check out Mrs. Smith's class launching their rockets yesterday...

In second grade, we are meteorlogsists learning about extreme weather that affects us in Florida. In the upcoming weeks, we will be learning about extreme weather around the world and making emergency preparedness plans and dioramas to present to other students.
